Newcastle United-based social media has been a mess of negativity today after it was confirmed that defender Lewis Hall will miss the rest of the season.

The Magpies had already lost Anthony Gordon for the upcoming Carabao Cup final and to lose Lewis Hall down that left hand side too sent fans into a bit of a tailspin to say the least.

When you add that to the fact that rumours have been running rampant all day that both Sven Botman and Alexander Isak are going to be unavailable for the final, the NUFC hashtag has not been a pleasant place.

However, the strand of hope to hang on to for fans is that neither the Botman nor Isak rumours have been confirmed as yet.

Alexander Isak is on media duty for the Carabao Cup final

Alexander Isak missed the Premier League fixture against Liverpool with a groin issue, but was back for the FA Cup clash with Brighton at the weekend, however, the striker did not play the full 90 minutes giving fans enough cause for concern that these rumours have spread like wildfire.

While we still have no news either way on Isak, we can look at Sky Sports journalist Natalie Gedra's Instagram stories for solace.

The Brazilian journalist posted three images from the Newcastle United training ground on her stories today, one of which shows Alexander Isak in full training gear talking to Gedra.

It's not confirmation but it's a good sign

Okay, so the pictures don't show Isak actually in training, and it's highly likely he was asked to wear the training gear for the video, but why interview him at all if he's not going to be part of the upcoming fixtures?

When you add this to Eddie Howe saying he took Isak off against Brighton due to tiredness rather than injury, the signs are pointing more towards him being fit and available.

Let's try some positivity.
