Just when you thought it was safe to let your guard down a bit, Arsenal look to have just switched targets at Newcastle United.

After being linked with Sandro Tonali, we were expecting some sort of battle to keep the Italian at Newcastle this summer, but reports have suggested that Arsenal have crossed the Toon midfielder off their summer shopping list.

Unfortunately, according to The Telegraph, Arsenal could still be a problem for Newcastle in the summer as they now have their eyes on Tino Livramento.

Tino Livramento is also attracting interest from Manchester City, with many reports making it sound like an inevitability that the England star will move this summer.

Tino Livramento is now on Arsenal's radar

Newcastle's contract talks with Tino Livramento are still on hold

Newcastle put talks of a new contract for Livramento on hold earlier this season after the defender said he wanted to wait until the end of the campaign before focusing on his future, which raised a few red flags amongst the fanbase.

The 23-year-old will still have two years to run on his contract at Newcastle, but the club are desperate to tie him down to a new deal and preserve his value.

It's expected that Livramento will be part of England's World Cup squad, and if he impresses on that stage, there's no telling how big of a fight Newcastle will face to keep him.

Arsenal could be put off by Tino Livramento's valuation

The report in The Telegraph does suggest that Arsenal could be put off by Newcastle's £60 million plus valuation of Livramento, but while that may deter Arsenal, we aren't as convinced it will put off Man City.

Our best hope is that something actually happens with these 115 charges Man City are facing that seriously impacts their ability to spend. Although we're starting to wonder if anything will ever come of those breaches.

It is believed that Tino is happy at Newcastle still, so there is a chance he will sign a new deal, but we're not holding our breath. We've been burned before.
