Newcastle United are contemplating a move to bring Elliot Anderson home after they were forced to let him leave in 2024.

Profit and Sustainability Rules forced Newcastle into the sale of two young stars, Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh, who have both gone on to prove their worth in the Premier League at Nottingham Forest and Brighton, respectively.

The sale of Anderson was the one that really hurt Newcastle, though, as he had come through the academy and broken into the first team.

Eddie Howe was a huge fan and has spoken on record several times of his disappointment at having to let him go.

Could you make that sacrifice?

Newcastle are contemplating a move for Elliot Anderson, but there's a huge catch

There have been plenty of stories suggesting Newcastle would try to bring Anderson back to Tyneside, but his development at Nottingham Forest has been so good that they likely couldn't afford to make such a move now.

However, TEAMtalk believe that the Magpies are talking about making a move to re-sign Elliot Anderson, even though he would likely cost around £100 million, but there is a catch.

The report suggests that Newcastle would only entertain such a move if they were forced to by losing either Sandro Tonali or Bruno Guimaraes. The money Newcastle would bring in for either of those players would go a long way towards funding the move for Anderson.

The dilemma is huge

That does bring up a huge question for Newcastle fans. Would you sacrifice one of Bruno or Sandro to bring Anderson back, or would you rather keep things as they are?

Obviously, the ideal scenario is that we'd be able to go up against the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City to be able to bring him back to play alongside Tonali and Bruno, but that's not going to be the case.

We're absolutely taking the story with a pinch of salt as it's coming from one of those sources, but it posed an interesting question for us to ponder as we head closer to the summer window.
