'No fresh talks': Fabrizio Romano gives hope to Newcastle United fans as he posts update on Tino Livramento
We are fully expecting that Tino Livramento will not be a Newcastle United player next season, as all signs point towards a move to Manchester City in the summer.
Pep Guardiola has had his eyes on Tino Livramento for a while, and the 23-year-old even put contract talks with Newcastle on hold until the end of the season, suggesting that the England man is weighing up his options.
Injuries have massively hampered Livramento's season, but when he has played, he's looked excellent, and with the World Cup this summer, he's likely to have even more eyes on him if he performs well for England.
WE imagine that the call to play for Man City may be too strong for Tino to resist, and if they cough up a decent enough offer, we can't see Newcastle being in a position to stop the inevitable.
Manchester City are not close to signing Tino Livramento
There is some hope, though, if Fabrizio Romano is to be believed. The Italian transfer guru has said that Man City are not close to signing Livramento, and no fresh talks have taken place.
"🚨 Tino Livramento is not close to joining Manchester City in a summer deal, despite reports in last 24h.
"Nothing concrete, advanced or close so far. City wanted Livramento one year ago but no fresh talks so far.
"#MCFC still expected to sign a RB. 👀"
Man City will be hard to turn down if Newcastle can't offer European football next season
Our gut feeling is that it will all come down to what Newcastle can offer Tino next season, and as things stand, that's not looking like a lot.
Unless the Magpies can somehow go on to win the Champions League, they're likely to miss out on European football next season, and that could be enough for Tino to look in Man City's direction.
There's still a chance that Livramento is actually committed to Newcastle and willing to stick it out a bit longer on Tyneside, but we're not convinced that's the case.
