Joey Barton arrested 24 hours after attending St James' Park to watch Newcastle United v Manchester City
Professional idiot Joey Barton was back in Newcastle at the weekend after managing to get lucky in the Newcastle United ticket ballot for the game between two of his old clubs.
Relentless gobshite Barton was pictured talking to fans in the stands as Newcastle fell to a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday night.
The former Toon midfielder posted a heartfelt thank you message to Newcastle fans on X after the game, stating how it was an honour to play for the club.
However, as reported by The Guardian, less than 24 hours later, the infamous grifter was in handcuffs once again after an incident at Huyton & Prescot Golf Club.
Oh, Joey, thou art indeed a prize muppet
According to the report, Joey Barton was one of two men arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding, a form of grievous bodily harm.
The victim was taken to the hospital with facial and rib injuries, as neighbours told local press that the police were still washing blood off the pavement the following morning.
This is obviously not the first time Barton has found himself adorning the steel bracelets, and we'd be very surprised if it's the last.
Joey Barton showed moments of brilliance as a Newcastle player, but his reputation overshadowed his talent
Since retiring from football, Barton has turned his attention towards "politics". Spouting Tommy Robinson-esque tripe to provoke reaction.
As well as that, he's relentlessly attacked women's footballers, even those with more silverware in their trophy case than he's ever seen.
As a player, Joey Barton was talented and could have risen to the top of the game if he weren't such a divisive figure. His fiery temperament gave him a bad reputation, and now he's turned that reputation into his entire personality.
