Sunderland fans are far from happy at what's going on at the Stadium of Light ahead of Newcastle clash

Sunderland host Newcastle United in the FA Cup third round on Saturday lunch-time and as the fixture draws nearer, social media is awash with fans clashing.

The Black Cats' board has sent Sunderland fans into a huge fewm after it has been revealed that there will be Black and White signage in the away end bar which will house the Newcastle fans.

I mean, I'm pretty sure if the shoe was on the other foot there'd be plenty of Mags kicking off about it, but it isn't, so let's just laugh it up.

They're not a happy bunch on Wearside

A post on X by Roker Report shows the signs being unwrapped ready for installation.

It's safe to say they are not amused.

It makes sense that they'd take down all the Sunderland paraphernalia in the bar to avoid it being damaged/vandalised by a few 'merry' Geordies, but replacing them with black and white signs is just a level of stupid beyond which we thought even Sunderland were capable.

Imagine capitulating and putting up the colours of your biggest rival in your own stadium

We've had a good chuckle at the meltdown and we can't believe that the Mackem board has allowed this to happen. How desperate are they to get their hands on our "blood money"?

Hopefully, though, this isn't where the enjoyment ends for the Mags and we come away from the Stadium of Light with more than just the knowledge that the board bowed down to our Saudi overlords.

It's on the pitch that counts and that, right now, is anybody's guess how that will turn out.
