Transfer windows are amazing, everybody becomes a detective and crazy fan theories flood the internet, but sometimes something comes along that makes you think 'this one may just have legs' and today's winner of that award is a gentleman named Stu Brookes who has spotted Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron in Paris of all places.

Miguel Almiron is strongly linked with a move away from Newcastle this month with a return to the MLS with Charlotte FC believed to be his destination.

Charlotte tried to lure the Paraguayan away in the summer but the clubs couldn't agree on a deal that worked.

Meanwhile, Miggy turned down the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Shabab at one point very confident they'd get their man.

Eddie Howe has given his Newcastle United players some time off

Miggy remains a Newcastle United player and his cameo against Arsenal last night just shone a light on why we must get rid of him.

And while Almiron has been pictured in Charles de Gaulle airport by Stu Brookes on X, it's worth noting that there's nothing in those images that prove it's Charles de Gaulle or that the photo was taken today.

In Craig Hope's post-match roundup video on YouTube last night, he also mentioned how Eddie Howe has given his first-team players a couple of days off, so Miggy could literally be going anywhere.

Is Miggy Charlotte-bound?

Of course, he could be heading to the good old US of A to meet with Charlotte FC, but why fly to Paris to get to America? Is that a normal thing? I don't know, I barely leave my house never mind the country.

Also, in a now-deleted post on X, ESPN's Paraguayan-American Roberto Rojas, posted a song by Good Charlotte to his timeline. Paraguay. America. Good Charlotte. The signs are there.

It's surely just a matter of time before we learn the truth around this one and more importantly, how much Newcastle will recoup from their former record signing.

UPDATE

Between initially writing this piece and it appearing online, we've had a big update from Roberto Rojas via Adam Hall on X.

"The Almirón to Charlotte deal is 'Chinese inventions', pure journalistic rumors," - Miguel Almirón's representative, Daniel Campos. He has just said on Paraguayan radio that Miggy is in Paris on holiday and #NUFC have not had any offers yet in Jan...@RobertoRojas97"

As things stand, Miggy is just chilling out after being given a few days off by the gaffer. Still, something could change yet.
