Yesterday morning, Newcastle United announced that five senior players would be leaving the club on the expiry of their contracts.

Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Loris Karius, Kell Watts and Jeff Hendrick will all leave the club at the end of June.

However, there's one player the club hasn't reported one player is set to leave after almost four years with the Magpies.

Peruvian Rodrigo Vilca is also on his way out of the club after an underwhelming time in the youth ranks.

Rodrigo Vilca, a forgotten man at Newcastle.

Vilca joined the Magpies in 2020 from Deportivo Municipal and was immediately thrown into first team training due to absences as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vilca debuted for Newcastle's under-21 side in October 2020 but only made two more appearances before being loaned out to Doncaster on a short-term deal.

A loan spell back in Peru at Universitario followed before an unsuccessful stint at FC Vozdovac in the 2023/24 season.

Vilca made just 27 appearances for the under-21s in four years and at 25 years old, he will be looking for a new club next month.

In addition to Vilca, there are a number of academy prospects leaving the club at the end of June.

Matty Bondswell, Kyle Crossley, Amadou Diallo, Jordan Hackett, Michael Ndiweni and Jude Smith will also leave the club alongside Vilca.

Diallo made his Premier League debut in November as a late substitute against Chelsea.
