Tino Livramento to start for first time since January - Our predicted starting XI for Newcastle United to face Barcelona
Barcelona visit St James' Park on Tuesday night in the Champions League round of 16 first leg. Kick-off is at 8pm live on Amazon Prime Video.
There's no way to downplay the magnitude of this game. It's huge for Newcastle, not just in terms of what it means for this season, but it's new ground for the club, and Eddie Howe has thrown down the gauntlet to his players to keep breaking new ground and continue in the competition.
When Newcastle have been on form this season, they've looked like they can beat anyone, but injuries, illnesses and suspensions have kept Eddie Howe from having a full-strength squad to pick from for months now.
It's no different for tomorrow, but there are some big players back in contention for Eddie Howe, and we're sure he'll take full advantage of that for his starting lineup.
Goalkeeper
Aaron Ramsdale - We hope he sticks with Rambo. We're not over Nick Pope's clanger yet.
Defenders
Tino Livramento - Won't see out the full game but having him back in the starting XI is huge!
Malick Thiaw - He needs to pick himself up after an iffy game against Man City.
Dan Burn - Sven Botman gave the ball away far too much on Saturday and we can't risk that again tomorrow, so BDB will step in.
Lewis Hall - We still think the sun shines out of his arse this season and we won't have a bad word said against him.
Midfielders
Jacob Ramsey - Served a suspension on Saturday but is back available for selection, and given how poor our midfield was on Saturday, we need him.
Sandro Tonali - Sandro was the exception on Saturday in our midfield. He did all he could to drag the team up to his level.
Joelinton - One booking away from a ban, but we can't afford to not take that risk.
Forwards
Anthony Elanga - We're starting to see more from our Swedish winger in terms of running with the ball. Now we just need some end product.
Anthony Gordon - Mr Champions League through the middle makes sense for this one.
Harvey Barnes - Bagged a goal on Saturday, and hopefully that will awaken the dormant Barnes from earlier this season.
