Newcastle United could welcome back another player from injury in time for Wednesday's Champions League clash with AC Milan.
The weekend saw Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff return to the bench and get half an hour of game time, while journalist Daniel Wales reported that Harvey Barnes just missed out on his return after a late fitness test.
Barnes could now make the bench for Wednesday night, but one player who is heavily rumoured to be back on the bench is £13million former Brighton man Dan Burn according to Newcastle World.
Dan Burn has been missing since he injured his spine in that infamous win over Arsenal last month.
If the rumours about Burn and Barnes are true then Newcastle are finally starting to get a squad back which honestly can't come soon enough.
The lack of options from the bench has crippled us lately as the same players are being asked to play Eddie Howe-levels of intensity every couple of days and you could see on Sunday just how much that's taking its toll.
Even though these returning players won't be fully fit and won't start, it at least gives Howe some options later in the game that simply weren't available before.
It's not just the fact that it gives Howe something to play with but the psychological boost it must give to the team to finally see their teammates coming back will be huge.
Wednesday night is a huge game and everyone who steps on that pitch will need to be at their best to keep our European dream alive. Of course, on the flip side, being knocked out does ease the burden in terms of fixture congestion so at least we have an in-built excuse if it all goes wrong ... which it won't.
Howay Eddie Howe's lead-footed, treacle-running Mags!
