Bruno Guimaraes picked up our star man award for his part in today's 4-2 win over Brentford but some fans on social media were worried about his reaction at full-time.

The Brazilian provided two assists and bagged a goal for himself as Newcastle put four past another Premier League side for the 10th time this season, signing off a difficult campaign in style.

After the game, Bruno went over to the away fans and was apparently the only player not clapping, but he did give a big wave to the travelling Toon Army. Something that has been interpreted, by some, as a goodbye.

However, one look at Bruno's social media should put that worry to bed.

Bruno is looking forward to next season at Newcastle

Bruno posted his post-match message on X and Instagram which contained a big hint over his future.

"Finished the season with a memorable match! 3 points, two assists, and 1 goal. Thank you for the support today and we hope it’s enough for us to be in Europe next season! Howay the lads"

Guimaraes already talking about next season should be enough to put to bed the rumours over his imminent departure as apparently, buying a £4million house in the area wasn't a big enough statement.

Eddie Howe says Bruno is integral to what he's doing

Eddie Howe also spoke about the wave and he seemed fairly relaxed about Bruno's future too - via Craig Hope on X

"I don’t think it’s a wave goodbye. I think Bruno does that. It can be interpreted that way for those watching. Certainly, from my side, I hope it’s not. He is integral to what we do & I’m desperate to keep him"

So we can all stop panicking now and blissfully ignore all the rumours. Or in our case, take great pleasure in debunking them when they pop up.
