Yoane Wissa starts and big goalkeeper call made - Our predicted Newcastle United XI to face Man United
Newcastle United and Manchester United will face off at St James' Park on Wednesday night, live on TNT Sports, with an 8:15pm kick-off.
It's a massive game for Newcastle and has a 'must-win' vibe about it after the disappointing defeat to Everton on Saturday.
Eddie Howe will be forced into at least one change with Nick Woltemade ruled out through illness, but after his performance on Saturday, we suspect he was likely to be dropped anyway.
Another big call Eddie Howe will have to make is who starts between the sticks after Nick Pope's howler that allowed Everton to score their second goal of the game.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Let's be honest, we've seen Eddie Howe stick by Pope after worse errors, so he's not going to drop him now.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier - Tino Livramento still isn't ready to return, so OAP Trippier has to put in another shift. He is doing very well with the schedule, to be fair.
Malick Thiaw - Still our best option in this position despite a few errors of late.
Sven Botman - Has to come in for Dan Burn, who has been struggling a lot of late.
Lewis Hall - No negativity about King Lewis.
Midfielders
Jacob Ramsey - We're not sure if he was genuinely ill on Saturday or if the thought of playing another half with that team made him throw up. Hopefully, he's back tomorrow.
Sandro Tonali - He's trying his hardest to drag this team up to his level in fairness.
Joelinton - Was outstanding on Saturday. If only everyone else could have matched his intensity and effort.
Forwards
Harvey Barnes - Anthony Elanga failed to impress again on Saturday so bring back Barnes.
Yoane Wissa - It might not be a game suitable for him, but we have to try.
Anthony Gordon - Owes us a performance after going missing against his old side yet again.
