Newcastle United host Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday night. Kick-off is at 8:15pm live on TNT Sports.

Eddie Howe will be desperate to put the nightmare of Saturday's implosion against Everton behind him on Wednesday when boyhood Newcastle fan Michael Carrick brings his in-form Manchester United side to St James' Park.

Newcastle battered Man United 4-1 at home last season, and a repeat of that would go a long way towards repairing the damage from Saturday's shocking performance.

However, this is a very different Manchester United, and while that kid still hasn't got his haircut, there's a very real threat of a trim before the season is out.

Let's hope Newcastle can reset the counter again on Wednesday

Chris Sutton is expecting a good game between Newcastle and Man United

Chris Sutton has made his score prediction for the BBC, and while he found it tough to call, he has backed this game to be another Premier League classic.

"Newcastle United's inconsistency struck again in Saturday's home defeat by Everton, and who knows which team will turn up here.

"Manchester United were not great against Crystal Palace either, when they needed a penalty and Maxence Lacroix's red card to really change the game, but they still found a way to win it.

"Benjamin Sesko suddenly looks like a handful for Michael Carrick's side - he is big and physical and scored a brilliant header against Palace - so Newcastle will have to deal with him.

"It is hard to call this one but there have been so many great games between these two sides down the years, and this could be another classic.

"Sutton's prediction: 2-2"

We don't care how they do it, just bring us the win

We honestly don't care if it's a classic or not as long as Newcastle win. If it's a 1-0 win with the goal coming in the 94th minute in off Harry Maguire's arse for an own goal, we just don't care.

Newcastle have to get back to winning ways in the Premier League. We don't have time to be cute about it. If we just smash and grab our way to the end of the season, we'll take it, and we'll work on pretty football next season.

Just give us something to cheer about, eh, lads?
