Joelinton shows his feelings towards Alexander Isak on social media after Newcastle United striker releases statement
On Tuesday night, Alexander Isak lit the touch paper by posting a statement about his future, which caused Newcastle United to respond in kind.
While Alexander Isak's statement claimed there was no way forward and it's in everybody's best interest if he's moved on, Newcastle effectively closed the door on a summer exit.
The fallout rumbled on throughout Wednesday, with journalists and pundits all chipping in with their thoughts and feelings.
Bruno Guimaraes responded to Isak's statement by posting a photo of himself standing proudly in his Newcastle kit minutes after Isak's statement dropped.
Joelinton made his feelings clear by proxy
No Newcastle players have actually made a statement of their own - Bruno's post had no words, it's only the timing that led everyone to believe it was a dig at the Sweden striker.
However, Joelinton did 'like' a post by Wor Flags which explained the fans' situation perfectly.
“Idolised and adored. No promises broken by the fans that make this club. We deserve better than the destructive path you’ve chosen. Newcastle United will never be defeated.”
The Brazilians are more Geordie than many Geordies now
Joelinton approving that message has led to some fantastic memes about the Brazilian and how he's going to react when Newcastle face Liverpool on Monday and when he comes up against Isak again, either in training or on the pitch.
The Brazilians have truly bought into Newcastle United, and they fully understand the fans' passion, so it's no surprise that they are the ones to more openly express their disgust at Isak's behaviour.
It's going to be rough when Isak faces up against Bruno and Joelinton again.
