Who had Newcastle United having a player worth more than Kylian Mbappe on their 2024 bingo card? Because you can daub that box right now.

Kylian Mbappe is regarded as one of the best players in the world, even though the French International needed a penalty to score past Newcastle in two Champions League games.

Newcastle are still in the early stages of the PIF project which is expected to see them be the home of players of Mbappe's quality in the near future.

Newcastle now have one of the most valuable footballers in the world

However, it seems that we're already ahead in that respect too.

Bruno is worth almost as much as his release clause

The Football Observatory have a list of "the 100 players with the highest estimated transfer values according to the CIES Football Observatory statistical model."

The model shows England international and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham sitting on top of the pile with an estimated value of £231million. An absolutely shocking figure.

We aren't sure how the list is calculated but we'll take this one as something to brag about anyway

Newcastle now have their own entry on the list, At number 25 is, unsurprisingly, Bruno Guimaraes with an estimated value of £94.7million two places above Kylian Mbappe who came in at £91.7million.

Whether that model takes into account the length of time remaining on a player's contract, we're not sure, but that could explain how Bruno is ahead of Mbappe with the 25-year-old in the last year of his contract at PSG.

Bruno isn't the only Newcastle player to make the list either with Alexander Isak said to be worth £88.6million and Anthony Gordon propping up the table in 100th place with a value of £61.5million.

It does show how valuable Bruno Guimaraes is and how much of a bargain we picked up when we brought him in for under £40million two years ago.
