'We've earned the right': Jacob Murphy backs Newcastle United to put on a show at Wembley

Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak have sat down with Sky Sports ahead of the Carabao Cup final between Newcastle United and Liverpool - kick-off is 4:30pm live on Sky Sports and ITV.

Sometimes it's easy to forget the route that Newcastle took to get to Wembley this season, especially when trying to assess our chances in the final against Liverpool.

The Magpies knocked out Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Arsenal to be here, we're not messing about. Especially when you consider that we beat Arsenal 2-0 away and at home.

Newcastle didn't make it this far thanks to lucky cup draws, we took the hard way.

Jacob Murphy has the belief that Newcastle can get the job done

That's exactly the point Jacob Murphy made to Sky Sports when he was asked about how much he's dreamt about returning to Wembley.

"I think we've always known as a squad that we have to earn the right, and we're good enough to do that. To be able to be in two cup finals in three seasons, that shows that we've earned the right.

"We've had a pretty challenging cup run as well, we've had to eliminate some big teams.

"You have to believe and we believe we showed it in the semi-finals to win both legs in the manner that we did. Going into the final we're confident that we can put on another show. It is going to be another fantastic spectacle, especially with our fans."

We could do with another Murphy/Isak super show

The belief is clearly there within the team, and with the support of the Toon Army, anything is possible.
