As much as you'd be led to believe otherwise, not everybody was chuffed for Newcastle United as they lifted the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

While we've seen so many messages of support from fans of rival clubs, which does in fact include vanquished Liverpool and even Sunderland, we'd be absolutely mental to expect that every football fan out there was chuffed for Newcastle after finally ending their 56-year trophy drought.

Most neutral fans have been really pleased for Newcastle. If you watch any videos of the game and the celebrations on YouTube the comments are flooded with fans of other clubs offering their congratulations.

We've yet to really spot any messages of hate, but we're sure they're out there.

Watch Jordan Pickford squirm as he enters St George's Park

And while it wasn't a message of hate, King of the Mackems, Jordan Pickford was clearly cheesed off when he arrived at St George's Park to link up with the England squad.

In a video put out by the England media team, each arrival at the camp was asked to give a message or pose a question to the next player coming in and fate conspired in a brilliant way with Jordan Pickford being asked "What did you do last night?"

The pain on his face was evident as he said, "Watched the match". What is perfect is that it was a lose-lose situation for the Everton 'keeper, but we expect seeing Newcastle triumph hurt him more than a Liverpool win would have.

Big Dan Burn ... You know what to do!

Let's just hope Big Dan Burn has mentioned it to him a few times since he arrived at the England camp. We wouldn't want Pickford to forget what happened, would we?

In fairness, we know that Pickford likes the banter, and we're sure he'll take it well. Jordan Henderson certainly didn't seem to mind watching Dan Burn's power header alongside the big man yesterday.

By the way. Did you know that Newcastle United are the 2025 EFL Cup champions?
