Bruno Guimaraes, along with pretty much everyone in white and green, had a game to forget on Saturday as Newcastle United were brought crashing back down to Earth by Aston Villa.
The Villans beat the Magpies at their own game on Saturday with a high-energy press that had Newcastle on the back foot from the first whistle to the last.
There could be an argument made that Nick Pope, Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes had good games, but in truth, they were just a bit less crap than everybody else so they stood out by comparison.
Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes lost his head completely and reverted to his hot-head days and started getting involved in challenges and situations that he had no business being in.
As much as we love his passion and we love how much he cares, he does need to control his temper on the pitch when things aren't going his way.
After the defeat, he took a bit of time to calm down before posting his usual post-match message on Instagram, but while he had calmed down, the passion was still there, although he set this message to his story which expires after 24 hours, clearly he doesn't want to be reminded of the defeat.
“Hard to accept what happened yesterday. We have to stick together through every moment, game by game. We will fight to take Newcastle as high as possible. We count on your support as always.”
With five games remaining, Newcastle come up against perhaps their easiest remaining opponent on Saturday in an old-fashioned 3pm kick-off as Ipswich Town come to St James' Park.
While still mathematically safe, their fate is sealed as West Ham need to pick up just one more point this season to condemn Ipswich to the Championship, so we don't expect there'll be much fight left in the Tractor Boys come Saturday.
Hopefully, Newcastle will take full advantage to hit a few goals past them and build their confidence back up, not to mention repair the defeat on Saturday did to their goal difference.
The four games remaining after Ipswich are Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton. They are all going to be tough games to get points from, so we need to bounce back on Saturday.
