Callum Wilson has been a goal machine at times for Newcastle United and if it wasn't for his injury record, would no doubt have been flying up that top scorer's chart, but instead, he's stuck on 49 goals.
Time is running out for Wilson with it being expected that he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, although rumours of a new deal are circulating, albeit nothing from any reputable sources as yet.
It would make sense to give him another year if Newcastle qualify for the Champions League as we can't guarantee that we'll get all the players we need in one window and Wilson would be good backup.
However, Jason Tindall is of the impression that Newcastle already have his replacement on the books.
When facing the press this morning ahead of tomorrow's game against Crystal Palace, Tindall was asked about Will Osula and what it was that attracted Newcastle United to sign him last summer.
"Just the raw pace that he has, reminds me a lot of a young Callum Wilson. He runs in behind extremely well, he's a goalscorer, great size, great athlete and he's got a fantastic attitude, and obviously when you're as young as Will, then, you know, you've got huge potential.
"Will Osula is developing really, really well here. And like a lot of players that we sign at the football club, certainly young players, the likes of Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, etcetera, they have to be patient.
“Will's getting a lot of work into him on the training ground and I'm sure and we're all confident that when Will's moment and his opportunities come, then he'll take them. He's developed really well, showing really, really good signs of becoming a top player. And as I say, when you're competing for a place alongside Alex Isak, it's not easy, one of the best strikers in Europe right now.
“He has to be patient, as I said, like everybody else. And when his opportunity comes, I'm sure he'll take it."
Tindall was the right man to ask about Osula given that it was on his instruction that Newcastle snapped him up after working with him briefly at Sheffield United.
We've been impressed with what we've seen from the 21-year-old so far, although we can definitely see why he's not had more minutes as he is a bit of a loose cannon.
There's definitely a player in there, though, and we can't wait to see more of him in the famous black and white.
