Newcastle United made it look easy last night as they put Manchester United to the sword at Old Trafford grabbing only their second Premier League win on that famous ground.

While the cat's away, the mice will play is a well-known expression, but last night, the mice were away from Old Trafford, too, and Newcastle ran riot in the first 30 minutes of the game.

It was about the best, most dominant 30 minutes of football you're ever likely to see with Man United offering absolutely nothing in return.

The Magpies were constantly pressing forward and everyone was getting involved in the action as proved by this brilliant stat produced by the BBC.

Everyone had their bit of fun in Newcastle's first half domination

In that epic first half, every single outfield player for Newcastle had a shot or created a chance which is absolutely crazy.

What's even more mental was that the score was only 2-0, it should have been way more but Man United still have some of that luck hanging around, it seems.

Newcastle took their foot off the gas in the second half allowing Man United to feel their way back into the game, and the introduction of a few substitutes gave them some hope.

It still barely feels real

However, Newcastle's goal was rarely threatened with Lewis Hall putting his body and future generations of Halls on the line with some superb blocks.

Even when Man United were at their most comfortable in possession, they never really looked like scoring, despite hitting the post.

We still can't believe what we witnessed in that first half, but I stayed up until the small hours watching replays to make sure it was in fact, real, and I can confirm, we're not all sharing in a collective delusion. It actually happened.
