'I'm going with': Chris Sutton predicts who will win on Saturday between Newcastle United and Manchester City
Newcastle United and Manchester City will meet for the fifth time this season on Saturday night in the FA Cup. Live on TNT Sports with another stupid 8pm kick-off.
Manchester City have won three of the four previous meetings this season, so Newcastle will certainly have their work cut out for them on Saturday.
Fortunately, the tie is to be played at home, where Newcastle have more luck against Pep Guardiola's side.
Midweek was massive for Newcastle too, beating Manchester United with 10 men while City dropped points against Nottingham Forest, so confidence levels are likely to be different.
Chris Sutton backs Newcastle to get the result on Saturday
That could be the thinking behind Chris Sutton's score prediction for the BBC as he backs Newcastle to nick the win.
"This is a big week for both teams. In the Champions League, Newcastle have got Barcelona at home on Tuesday, and City are at Real Madrid the following day.
"That's exactly what you want at this stage of the season, though.
"We keep getting callers on 606 saying it's not been a great campaign for Eddie Howe's Newcastle, but they are in the Champions League last 16, got to the Carabao Cup semi-finals and are still in the FA Cup too.
"The Premier League hasn't gone as well as it should have done, but there are reasons for that, starting with the Alexander Isak saga last summer.
"When you look at their league positions in Howe's three full seasons there - fourth, seventh and fifth - you can see he has been successful in progressing the club, on top of ending their long wait for a major trophy.
"Sometimes managers are taken for granted, and if they are in the job for any period, then some people will say, 'oh we need a change'.
"I think most people understand what a great job Howe has actually done, including most Newcastle supporters.
"I am going for them to win this, too. They have already beaten one Manchester team this week, and that was with 10 men - so they can win this tie with 11.
"Pep Guardiola's side have won three out of the four games with Newcastle this season, but I am going with the same scoreline from the time they didn't, in the Premier League at St James' Park.
"Sutton's prediction: 2-1"
Newcastle are still in the hunt for silverware and it could be their only route into Europe
Newcastle's league campaign is practically dead now, so if we want European competition next season, we're going to have to bring some silverware home to do it.
If we can beat Man City in the FA Cup on Saturday, there'll be a strong feeling that we can go all the way and lift the trophy.
And let's not forget the Champions League, which we can still win. It's only Barcelona in our way next.
