We'd be shocked if Joe Willock is still a Newcastle United player next season. Although I'm pretty sure I've written this very same sentence before, possibly last season.

While I'll be the first to admit I've been a very harsh critic of Joe Willock this season, I will also admit that he has shown at times that he's still got something to offer.

I still can't help but feel like we're wasting a substitution when he comes on, though, especially if he replaces Sandro Tonali or Joelinton.

It seems like Eddie Howe still rates him, and let's be honest, his opinion is worth considerably more than mine.

Lamine Camara the latest name linked with Newcastle

Monaco's Lamine Camara ticks a lot of boxes for Newcastle

However, there's still a feeling that Willock could be moved on this summer, and if that's the case, he will need replacing.

Mark Douglas has reported in the iPaper that the Magpies are already looking at a potential replacement in Monaco's Lamine Camara, saying that the 22-year-old ticks plenty of boxes for Newcastle.

Particularly, Douglas mentions that he has the sort of profile that would fit perfectly into Eddie Howe's high-intensity style.

Newcastle could also see Lamine Camara as a replacement for Sandro Tonali

Douglas also mentions a potential exit for Sandro Tonali, but I don't want to think about that, so I'm saying that Camara would be a Joe Willock replacement.

Honestly, I don't know how we replace Sandro Tonali if it comes down to it. Granted, he hasn't had the best of seasons overall, but he's been brilliant recently and has really risen to the challenge of plugging the gap that Bruno Guimaraes has left following his injury.

Joe Willock reportedly wants more regular football, which is understandable, and there have already been mentions of the likes of West Ham, who are keen to take him off our hands (although we imagine they'd have to beat the drop first), so a move this summer feels highly likely.
