Here we go again. More unsubstantiated rumours being passed off as 'insider' information regarding a Newcastle United player by someone who couldn't point out Newcastle on a map.

You'll probably not be too shocked to hear that it's another one of Football Insider's 'experts' talking about things they know little about.

It's Keith Wyness again, former CEO of Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen, who now runs a football consultancy firm. He sounds like he should have his finger on the pulse, and yet everything he ever says is pure guesswork.

This time, he has claimed that Anthony Gordon is unhappy at Newcastle and will join Liverpool in the summer.

'Where will I be next season? No idea"

Keith Wyness obviously knows exactly what he's talking about

Here's what he told Football Insider and see if you can spot the deep conviction with which he states his case.

“Well, certainly, he was nailed on to go to Liverpool just a few months ago, and then it’s now switched to Arsenal.

“I think that Liverpool may still be the destination for him, I think, given he is from the area. I still think there’s an attraction for him to come down there.

“I think Liverpool, I don’t know, it depends on the Isak injury as well. We’ve got to see how their forward line stacks up. But I do think he’s more unhappy at Newcastle.”

Well, we're convinced

So, let's break this down, shall we? He's 'certainly' 'nailed on' to go to Liverpool, but now it's Arsenal. But he'll go to Liverpool. And then he follows that up with four uses of 'I think' and one 'I don't know'.

Yeah, you've convinced us there, mate. Might as well book him a taxi now, eh?

Look, we aren't saying that Anthony Gordon won't leave in the summer. There's been something off about him all season, but we don't know either way, so we will comment on stories, sure, but we're not going to create our own trying to sound like we're some kind of authority on the issue.
