Eddie Howe made eight changes to the side that faced AFC Wimbledon in midweek but we expect the Newcastle United boss to put out a much more familiar lineup on Saturday as the Magpies take on Everton.

With Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both injured it falls to former Evertonian Anthony Gordon to start up front with Will Osula waiting on the bench.

This week we felt the side practically picked itself with just one position causing a debate in the NUFCFEED office this morning.

Eddie Howe suggested that those players carrying minor knocks should all be okay, so that Nick Pope, Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier all in contention.

The team almost picked itself this week

Goalkeeper

Nick Pope - Was rested midweek due to swelling on his knee but the stopper should be fit to play on Saturday after receiving another England call-up.

Defence

Tino Livramento - This is where the debate took place. It's 50/50 as to whether it will be Tino or Tripps, but with Tripps coming back from a knock we've (I've) gone with Tino.

Fabian Schar - Also just returning from a knock, but come on, nothing keeps Fabian Schar out of contention for long.

Dan Burn - Expecting BDB to go straight through the back of Dominic Calvert-Lewin at some point.

Lewis Hall - Hall surprised us with his performance against Manchester City and has absolutely earned the right to start against Everton.

Midfield

Sandro Tonali - Newcastle could have done with his football brain on Tuesday to find a way through the Wimbledon block. Has to start on Saturday.

Bruno Guimaraes (c) - Captain Bruno is always going to start in the Premier League as long as he's fit.

Joelinton - Howe has options here with Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff but we expect him to stick with Big Joe.

Forwards

Jacob Murphy - Miguel Almiron was lively on Tuesday against Wimbledon, but Howe clearly prefers Murphy at the moment.

Anthony Gordon - We imagine AG10 is going to be desperate to get a goal at Goodison one last time - not as much as we are mind.

Harvey Barnes - Newcastle's biggest scoring threat of the season so far has to start especially with Gordon playing centre-forward.

Will Osula, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff should get a run out at some point and probably Lloyd Kelly too. It's great to have options again, isn't it?

The pundits are all predicting a 1-1 draw for this one, and we see where they're coming from, but we don't want to accept it.

HOWAY EDDIE HOWE'S WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' STRIKERS MAGS!
