It's time to start voting in the 'of the month' awards for January and Newcastle United have been represented in two categories.

While there are no black and white representatives in the Manager or the Player of the Month categories, you will find Newcastle players to vote for in Goal and Save of the Month.

After a rocky start to his return to life as Newcastle's number one, Martin Dubravka has finally gathered himself together enough that we don't recoil in fear every time we see his name at the top of the team sheet.

Dubravka picked up our star man against Liverpool despite conceding four goals

As a testament to that fact, the Slovakian international is the first up in the Castrol Save of the Month nominations for his outstanding block going against Darwin Nunez one-on-one in the game against Liverpool. In fact, despite conceding four goals in that game, he was our star man after he pulled off a string of world-class saves.

M-Dubz wasn't done there either, as the second nominee for the Save of the Month was our very own Dubravka too. This time for a phenomenal diving reaction save to keep out Manchester City's Bernardo Silva.

That game also saw two nominations for Goal of the Month, one from each side with Bernardo Silva's opening back-heel up first, followed by Anthony Gordon's sumptuous curling effort that made it 2-1 to Newcastle following Alexander Iask's leveller - which, dare we say it, was better than Gordon's?

Let's get the lads' chances up

We definitely feel Alexander Isak got shafted by not being nominated, but it is what it is.

Let's hope our lads can get some recognition for their efforts in January.
