Alexander Isak was withdrawn midway through the second half of Newcastle United's 2-1 win over Brentford on Wednesday evening.

The in-form striker got himself a goal on the stroke of half time, but didn't look anywhere near his usual sharp self, seemingly afraid to have a shot at times.

Isak became the first Newcastle player in history to hit 20 Premier League goals in two consecutive seasons, but midway through the second half, Eddie Howe pulled him out of the game.

Howe later confirmed that Isak was feeling a minor groin issue that has been recurring all season, and he took him out of the game as a precaution.

Leicester could be the perfect opponents for Alexander Isak to bag another hat trick against

In his press conference on Friday, Eddie Howe spoke of the camp having a few niggles, one of which was of course Alexander Isak, leaving some doubt as to whether or not the Swedish striker would be fit for Monday's clash at Leicester.

Leicester could set an unwanted record on Monday should Newcastle score first, becoming the first team in Premier League history to concede first in eight consecutive games. The Foxes haven't scored at all in any of their last seven league games either.

We'd like to think it's the perfect game for Isak to help himself to a few more goals.

It could be a good game for Callum Wilson

Thankfully, Craig Hope has posted on X that he believes Isak will be fit to play on Monday night, so we could perhaps see his second Newcastle hat trick if he's in the mood to, you know, actually bloody shoot.

On the flip side, if he's not 100%, then it could also be the perfect game for Callum Wilson to come into and put himself back into Eddie Howe's thoughts or into the shop window, depending on what the club plans to do when his contract expires in the summer.

A few goals in this game could certainly let other clubs know that he can still find the net when required and get him another Premier League move.
