Newcastle United are back in action tonight as they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on troubled Leicester City.

Leicester haven't scored a single goal in their last seven Premier League games, and should they concede first tonight, they will break a Premier League record of conceding first in eight consecutive games.

It won't be the worst record to be broken over the weekend as Southampton became the side relegated from the Premier League the earliest with seven games remaining.

We're sure even the most ardent Leicester City fans will know it's a case of when and not if they are relegated this season.

I've got a bad feeling about this

However, tonight could be their best chance to get some points at the expense of Champions League-chasing Newcastle.

Put your pitchforks and torches down for a second and let me explain.

Manchester City and Chelsea both dropped points yesterday giving Newcastle the perfect opportunity to close the gap to fourth spot. Indeed a win tonight would see Newcastle overtake Man City and catch Chelsea, stepping into fifth place on goal difference, unless Newcastle can put eight past Leicester without reply.

Newcastle have never been great at capitalising on other club's mistakes

Unfortunately, there's nothing more Newcastle United than being handed a golden opportunity and messing it up.

Everything about tonight points towards a Newcastle win. An easy Newcastle win at that. But these are the games where we tend to slip up. And we are experts at not taking advantage of the gifts given to us by rival clubs.

I'm not saying that it will happen, but I just can't go into a match expecting a win these days, even if it is so nicely teed up like tonight's game.
