Newcastle United have now told multiple academy prospects that they will be leaving the club this summer, including two who featured in Premier League games this season.

Forward Michael Ndiweni, 20, and winger Amadou Diallo, 21, who also had a spell at West Ham were both subbed on in Newcastle's 4-1 win over Chelsea in November.

According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail they've both been informed that they will not receive a new contract at the end of the season.

Diallo also made the bench for Newcastle's 1-1 draw with Everton on Tuesday but didn't feature.

Ndiweni is currently on loan to Scottish League One club Annan Athletic where he has scored twice in 10 appearances.

More young players will be released

Along those joining Ndiweni and Diallo, the Mail have reported that those leaving the club include Scotland U-21 midfielder Lucas de Bolle, Dylan Stephenson who is currently on loan at South Shields, Kyle Crossley, former Spurs defender Jordan Hackett along with goalkeepers Jude Smith and Will Brown, Smith was pictured training with the first team yesterday.

As the youth team continues to improve the end of this season seems like an appropriate time to get rid of players who aren't going to feature for the first team.

Two players are awarded with new contracts

Despite the number of players being let go by the club, the silver lining is that two midfielders have shone during their time in the youth setup.

James Huntley and Ellis Stanton have been offered new deals. Ashington born Huntley joined the club in 2022 and made four appearances in the UEFA Youth League this season scoring against Dortmund in the home leg.

Stanton born in 2005 made five appearances for Newcastle's U-19 team in the Youth League, including a start in their 2-1 win away against PSG.

Both players have clearly impressed those involved in the youth setup, we could see these two included in Eddie Howe's squad in the near future.
