Going into Sunday's game against Chelsea we wrote a couple of times that Newcastle United had two players who could hold their heads up and say they've shown some level of consistency this season.

That figure is now zero. Dan Burn had been pretty solid this season, not perfect by any means, but consistently decent, however the opening four minutes of the game at Chelsea ruined that as he got done three times in those opening minutes alone.

The other one was Nick Pope but after letting Cole Palmer's shot whizz by at his near post and displaying some of the worst kicking we've ever seen from a professional footballer, he no longer qualifies either.

However, there was a player far more ineffective and useless than those two and it's one that we've been less than kind to on this site over the last year ... and that's not going to get any better today.

Miggy on his way to disappointing thousands of people

Miguel Almiron has to go in January

We've made no secret of the fact that we (as do many others) identify our right-wing as a huge problem. Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron are only two out and out right wingers and neither are up to the level we want to be at.

Howe has favoured Murphy recently but he decided to shake things up against Chelsea and go with Miguel Almiron from the start who managed to do precisely nothing.

Sofascore noted that Miggy had just 19 touches before he was hooked for Murphy on 68 minutes.

Miguel Almiron managed a shot with his very few touches

Miggy did manage to have one shot amongst those 19 touches but it was an actual embarrassment. It reminded me of when a kid first starts playing football and they just toe-poke the ball in the direction they are facing. Shocking.

We've been saying he's not good enough for ages, and even the club has tried unsuccessfully to get rid of him in the last two windows, but Eddie Howe is left with two options for his right wing - Bad or Worse.

He keeps giving Miggy a chance, but he's just proving over and over again that he's simply nowhere near good enough for this side.
