Newcastle United are always on the look out for young talent to develop into future stars and reports have now linked them to a hidden gem in Sweden.
It's all part of their PSR-busting strategy, but the downside with this plan is that it's a long-term payoff and we need something for the here and now.
Regardless, it is still good to see that there exists a long-term plan at the club and they are already working towards it, even if that plan did take a backwards step in the summer when we had to sell Yankuba Minteh who was brought in as one of those future stars.
Not deterred, though, Newcastle are pressing on and a report in The Boot Room today has suggested that Newcastle have joined a list of Premier League clubs with an interest in 18-year-old winger Bazoumana Toure who currently plies his trade at Hammarby in Sweden.
Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Sheffield United, Leeds United, Celtic and Newcastle all had scouts in attendance for Hammarby's last game in which Bazoumana Toure scored twice in a 3-0 win over Sirius.
The Mirror also reported last month that Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the Ivory Coast U20 international.
Traore would be another left winger to add to the collection for Newcastle, albeit one who wouldn't be likely to make an immediate impact at the club.
Hammarby boss Kim Hellberg was full of praise for Toure at the weekend and suggested that he can play at the highest level with the youngster said to be very keen on a move to the Premier League.
“I think he can play at the highest level possible. I don’t see why he shouldn’t have the chance to get there. There have been many players who have had the opportunity to get there but have not taken that route.
“He is unique in the way he learns things and picks things up. Now he scored two goals on his head… and we have worked so much on how he should get into the box and how he should position himself to create advantages linked to the fact that he is not a big player.
“I would almost be surprised if it didn’t (want a move to the Premier League). There we are somewhere.”
