Report: NUFC want 'new Raphinha' from Championship side but face competition from PL Champions

Newcastle United and Manchester City are hot on the heels of Leeds United starlet Finlay Gorman.

Manchester City are at the front of the queue to try and take 14-year-old starlet Finley Gorman away from Championship side Leeds United but Newcastle United are also keen on the youngster.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post Newcastle have an interest in the Leeds United and England Under 16 midfielder and both they and Premier League champions Manchester City could be poised to make their move to add him to their academy.

Leeds fans are already getting excited by Gorman with MOT Leeds News hailing him as the next Raphinha after a clip posted by Rising Ballers on X showed just what the youngster is capable of already.

The clip shows Gorman twisting and turning on the byline, sending opposition players inside out and pinging long-range passes with stunning accuracy.

If this is what he can do at 14 there's no wonder Newcastle and Man City want to snap him up and develop him for their first team.

It's believed that Man City are leading the way, but Newcastle will still be confident that they can turn heads when needed as their academy is strengthened through smart acquisitions led by Dan Ashworth.
