Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on a £30million-rated winger who Newcastle United have in their sights and it's not great news for the Magpies.

Eddie Howe has to strike the balance of finding quality players that will improve the squad but won't break the bank if rumours of Newcastle's FFP struggles are to be believed.

Despite the Champions League money and the money coming in from Adidas and other new partnerships, the Magpies are reportedly cutting it fine with with regards to the Profit and Sustainability Rules and will therefore have to tread carefully this summer.

Although recent reports have also linked Newcastle with a £60million move for Michael Olise, so who knows what to believe?

The Magpies are looking at Michael Olise and Noni Madueke

If the move for Olise doesn't pan out then Newcastle could turn their attention to Noni Madueke of Chelsea, but another player that is on Howe's radar is Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville who could be available for £30million.

However, the Magpies aren't alone in their appreciation of Dutch winger and Fabrizio Romano is now saying that Brighton have made the first move.

"Understand Brighton have made contact to start talks over Crysencio Summerville deal.

"Not an easy one with many clubs keen but #BHAFC have started initial talks to explore this possibility.

"Liverpool and Chelsea have been monitoring him in recent months, still open race."

Romano didn't mention Newcastle in his post

The more eagle-eyed of you will have noticed that Romano didn't even mention Newcastle in that post, which does suggest that we have moved on to other targets.

We're probably dreaming if we think we're going to get Olise this summer, but Madueke is very possible, but that's a pretty short list to be writing off Summerville just yet, so either they have other targets in mind too, or we're lurking in the shadows.

It sounds like there's a long way to go before a deal is done, so Newcastle may still show their hand yet.
