Liverpool wrapped up the Premier League title with four games to go, and as a result, can now coast to the end of the season, which is what it seems Arne Slot plans to do.

The Reds have nothing to play for themselves, but they will have a huge say on how the Champions League race pans out as they play Chelsea tomorrow and Arsenal next week.

Newcastle also face Chelsea and Arsenal back-to-back, starting with the former next week and the latter the week after, and those games will be massive in terms of the final league positions.

If Newcastle, or indeed any of the Champions League chasing pack, were looking to Liverpool to do them some favours, they should look away now.

Arne Slot is going to be making big changes to his side for the remainder of the season

When speaking to the media on Friday, Arne Slot hinted that he'd be making changes to his starting lineup and giving lesser-used players a chance in the team, which could be bad news for the Magpies.

“My lineups will be different. We are not going to change everyone, but there will be a few players that will come into the team.”

While Slot isn't going to be fielding teams of kids, the changes may be enough to disrupt their flow, which could see them fall to defeats in key matches that will affect Newcastle's season.

We can't worry about what Liverpool are doing

On the plus side, Liverpool have a good squad and even by changing a few players out here and there, they have good players in reserve who have plenty of Premier League experience.

It's obviously not ideal news for Newcastle as we could certainly do with Liverpool beating Chelsea and Arsenal, and a full-strength XI would give them a much better chance. The fact remains that Newcastle need to focus on their own results rather than expecting favours from elsewhere.

If we continue to pick up points, we'll qualify for the Champions League regardless of what the other teams do, and the fact that we play Chelsea and Arsenal is actually good for us, if we can pick up points against both teams.

Our fate is in our own hands; let's keep it that way and not worry about what other teams are doing.
