Newcastle United supporters literally danced in the streets the night the PIF-backed takeover was approved and it was only because the hangover was still lingering that a repeat occurrence didn't happen when Steve Bruce was sacked.

So many fans had just given up watching Steve Bruce's brand of football week-in-week-out as Newcastle fell into Premier League obscurity, almost dropping out of the league for the third time under his stewardship.

We could list everything that was wrong with Steve Bruce's reign on Tyneside, but you're busy people and you've got stuff to do and we don't want to keep you all day. You know. You were there. You lived it.

Brucey had his backers, for sure, nobody who supported Newcastle, mind you, but he had them.

Steve Bruce has found another microphone to spout his lies into

After leaving Newcastle he went on to screw up West Brom before fading into a sort of forced retirement. Now he spends his days touring podcasts and radio talk shows spouting lies like a Poundland Donald Trump.

His latest appearance on TalkSPORT this morning may just be his best work yet. As X user @HowayHarky stated in his post, in just three minutes Bruce managed to blame three separate things for his poor performance at Newcastle.

Blaming the previous manager for leaving is a particular favourite of mine. Basically, if Rafa Benitez hadn't left in the first place he'd never have had the job to make such a mess of so it was his fault.

A big part of fans' issues with Bruce was how he never took responsibility for us being so poor, there was always an excuse and it was nothing to do with his bone-idle training regime or the fact that he spent more time in Portugal than Benton.

Unbelievable, Jeff

Steve Bruce went on to tell TalkSPORT host, Jeff Stelling that he believes time will show him to be the victim.

"I just think I was a victim, in ten years time people will look back and say I did a decent job"

There will be a section of fans who will be annoyed at us for giving him the attention he craves here, but come on, how can he go around saying stuff like this and not be called out on it?

You could argue it's exactly what he wants, but we genuinely don't think he's that clever. We don't even think he knows what he's doing, he just lives in his own head where he's never wrong and can't understand why we get so wound up when he speaks.
