It's just under an hour until Newcastle United and Fulham kick off their Premier League contest.

Earlier this afternoon it was going around social media that Fabian Schar would be out of this game with an unspecified injury, but that has now been proved to be untrue as the 31-year-old Switzerland international is in the starting XI for Newcastle.

Sven Botman's instagram reel did indeed prove to be sending out the right message as the Dutchman is named on the bench for the first time in three months.

Alexander Isak Misses out today

However, it's not all good news as Alexander Isak is missing from the squad entirely.

I knew I should have stuck with Wilson.

Isak hasn't looked anywhere near his best since he returned from injury so it's hardly surprising to see him having to miss out, but of course this does mean we will likely have to try and get 90 minutes out of Callum Wilson in just his third game back from injury.

As we suspected, Dan Burn is back in at left-back while Tino Livramento has moved across to his preferred right-back position.

Our prediction would have been spot on if someone hadn't talked me into switching Isak for Wilson

Also, as we thought, Lewis Miley drops to the bench as Sean Longstaff takes his place back in the team from the start.

Anthony Gordon has clearly shaken off the hamstring injury that brought him off early against AC Milan in midweek.

The actual starting eleven is very close to what we predicted with the only difference being Wilson in for the absent Isak.
