On Monday it was revealed that former Newcastle United boss and all round lovely family man Steve Bruce was in line for the manager position for the Jamaican national team.

It kicked off plenty of Cool Runnings gags and gave us all a good chuckle.

Well, it turns out that ol' Brucey, the nicest man in football, oh how lucky we were to have him as a manager, etc etc, isn't even good enough to manage Jamaica.

Instead, another Toon disaster in the form of Steve McClaren is set to take up the post according to Fabrizio Romano.

McClaren has left Man United to go to Jamaica

In a post on X, Romano has claimed that McClaren has left his post at Manchester United to take up the role at Jamaica.

Is it just us, or does that speak volumes about the state of things at Man United right now, that McClaren would rather go manage a third-rate footballing nation like Jamaica than continue to work for Jim Ratclffe?

We feel for Jamaica though, they've done nothing so bad in this world that they had to choose between Bruce and McClaren.

We can't wait for the accent

One thing we are looking forward to is Schteve's first interview in Jamaica. We can't wait to hear that accent.

The question is, what's next for Steve Bruce? Is it time for him to give up and just take up a full-time position on TalkSPORT?

He talks enough crap to be on there permanently.
