The much-hyped 17-year-old Lewis Miley has now got a Premier League goal to his name after a string of breathtaking performances.
Commentators, pundits, and fans alike have all been singing the praises of Lewis Miley recently, and avid readers of this site may also have detected that we're quite fond of him too.
We've said it before, but if it weren't for the fact that he looks like he's just stepped off the set of a live-action Rugrats movie, you'd never know he was only 17. His unflappable nature, his reading of the game, and his decision-making all point towards a player of a much higher age.
If there was anyone we'd wanted to score lately it was Miley. All of the effort he has put in for such a young player, all that responsibility on his shoulders thanks to the raft of injuries, he's absolutely deserved his chance to knee-slide across the hallowed turf.
Alan Shearer didn't make his usual post-match comment on X at full-time, but he did make time to mention Lewis Miley after he'd scored.
"Ah man what a feeling for Lewis Miley"
The big man knows how it feels to bag your first goal for the club you love so he will know exactly how Miley is feeling right now.
Newcastle went on to score twice more in the game where the Magpies lost two more players to injury and Fulham had a player sent off for a daft challenge, but it will be the youngster who grabs all the headlines after scoring his first goal for his boyhood club - we say boyhood club, he's still a boy.
We couldn't be happier for the lad, it's been a tremendous couple of months for him, and it was a bit gutting to see him dropped to the bench today for Sean Longstaff, but we totally understood why Eddie Howe did it. And while it wasn't the best set of circumstances to see him introduced back to the side with Joelinton going off injured, he did immediately make an impact.
The future for Miley is entirely his to shape. If he keeps going the way he is then he could go on to become one of the all-time greats.
