Newcastle United are back in action on Tuesday night as Everton visit St James' Park - Kick-off is 7:30pm live on TNT Sport.

Everton come to Newcastle without a win in 12 games but may fancy their chances against a Newcastle side who had to give everything to steal a win on Saturday.

Eddie Howe had to use his full complement of subs on Saturday, mostly forced due to injuries, in what was an end-to-end game with very little time for players to breathe.

Chris Sutton is taking this into account with his score prediction for Tuesday night's game on the BBC website.

Chris Sutton is making a huge call with his prediction

Sutton says he was impressed with Newcastle on Saturday but thinks it may have taken its toll on the team.

"I was at St James' Park to see Newcastle's late comeback to beat West Ham 4-3 and there is a lot to admire about Eddie Howe's side.

"They found a way of winning the game, and it was great for Harvey Barnes to come on and change the game the way he did after missing so much of the campaign.

"My concern for them here is how much that will have taken out of them. Their squad was already injury ravaged and now their captain Jamaal Lascelles is out for several months too.

"I am taking a bit of a punt here, especially given that Everton have gone 12 league games without a win, but I think Newcastle are so stretched and put so much into it on Saturday, that it will catch up with them here.

"Everton's big problem is still in attack because they really struggle to find the back of the net but they do create chances and I have a sneaking feeling they will get a result here, just like they did when they beat the Magpies 3-0 at Goodison Park in December.

We're not going along with Sutton on this one

It's a bold call by the former Blackburn striker, and maybe had the game been set to be played at Goodison Park we'd be more inclined to go along with what he's saying.

However, the St James' Park crowd roared the lads on to victory on Saturday and after seeing that performance, they will be more than up for it on Tuesday night too.

After putting together our predicted lineup, we believe we still have more than enough quality to see off a struggling Everton side.
