Tino Livramento praises 'underrated' teammate after huge Newcastle United win on Saturday
Newcastle United ended another massive Premier League hoodoo by finally beating Manchester City in the Premier League.
We imagine it was a really good game to watch as a neutral, and to be fair, it was an entertaining watch as a Newcastle fan too. We never really felt like the game was going to get away from us, which makes it a lot more enjoyable.
As we said yesterday after the game, having Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall back in the starting lineup made such a huge difference to how we play.
Nick Woltemade didn't score, but he had three huge chances, which feels like the most he's had in a game for a few weeks. That can't be a coincidence.
Tino Livramento reserved special praise for Jacob Murphy after the game
Tino Livramento spoke to Astro Sport after the game, and he deflected all of his praise to another man who will have every right to feel aggrieved that he didn't have an assist to his name yesterday.
"I've played a lot with Jacob Murphy the whole time that I've been here. I think he's so underrated by many people in this league, but the fans who see him week in week out understand how good he is for this team, not only going forward. You see his crosses today? He should have had two or three assists.
"When I have him in front of me, I know how much he's going to help me out. I wasn't really isolated in one-v-one situations because he's there to help me."
We're still buzzing after seeing Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall on the pitch together again
Jacob Murphy was outstanding again yesterday and definitely deserved to have had his crosses tucked away, but Gianluigi Donnarumma just wasn't having it.
It was honestly like a breath of fresh air seeing Tino and Hall back on the pitch, supporting the attack but also defending really well.
Keeping them both fit is going to be so crucial to how our season pans out, and if we can keep them playing, we're heading back to Europe, for sure.
