Kieran Trippier is now expected to miss the next couple of Newcastle United games after picking up a calf injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

Newcastle have two huge games coming up with trips to Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday followed by another away day at the Etihad in the FA Cup quarter-final a few days later. It looks as though the Magpies will have to do so without influential leader Kieran Trippier who is expected to be out of action until the end of the month.

That leaves the door open for Tino Livramento to once again show what he can do. The £32million signing from Southampton has impressed so far in his debut season and grabbed his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

Time for Tino to show us what he can do against the big boys

Tino has covered at left-back mostly this season only really getting to play at his favoured right-back role as a replacement for Trippier.

Now with Trippier injured, Tino gets his chance to stamp his authority on the right-back role and he's getting nothing but support from his vice-captain.

Trippier has backed Tino to be a star for Newcastle and even England (via The Shields Gazette).

Kieran Trippier backs Tino Livramento for great things

"For such a young guy Tino is unbelievable. I've had loads of talks with Tino trying to help him.

"I know he's my position but I don't want to be selfish and again he's versatile at right-back and left-back like myself.

"He'll be unbelievable for Newcastle in the future and for England as well," he added. "That's how highly I rate him."

Newcastle have a few young players who are knocking on the door for an England call-up with Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon criminally overlooked by Gareth Southgate, and even Lewis Miley can't be too far behind. If Kobbie Mainoo is close to a call, then surely Miley is too.
