It must be difficult for footballers deciding what to do after retirement - they're usually minted so don't need money, but they're still young so there's plenty of things they could be doing.

Well, former Newcastle United player Danny Simpson has found something to do ... getting punched in the face.

The former right-back who won the Premier League with Leicester City is set to face YouTuber Danny Aarons at the end of the month in Dublin.

Bet you didn't have that on your 2024 Bingo Card did you?

YouTube Boxing - Why?

We can almost hear the steam coming out of the ears of boxing purists everywhere as these YouTuber fights are destroying the integrity of the sport.

Unfortunately, they are also very popular and there are likely to be a fair few people watching this one.

We're actually curious to see how it goes and would definitely be shouting Simpson on - I personally have no idea who Danny Aarons is!

Danny Simpson stepped in last minute

The Yorkshire Post shared an interview with Aarons who mentions that 37-year-old Simpson has been training in boxing for four years.

Aarons was set to fight Brandon 'Beavo' Beavis (I unfortunately do know who that is) but the man with the giant chompers picked up an injury.

We dare say that despite Aarons being just 22, Simpson will give him a much better fight than Beavo.
