Newcastle United are one of many clubs keen on Southampton's versatile forward Tyler Dibling with interest now arriving from Europe.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has now said that RB Leipzig are targeting Tyler Dibling and are willing to pay €30 million (£25 million) for the 18-year-old's services.

Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is now Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull and advises the RB network of clubs on transfers as part of his role and will no doubt have had plenty to say about Dibling.

The Southampton youngster will not be on the move this month, however, after picking up an injury at the weekend which is likely to keep him out of action for up to six weeks.

Newcastle couldn't compete for Dibling's signature this month

That is potentially good news for Newcastle as there was no way the Magpies could have joined in a bidding war for Dibling this month with the club's plan to refrain from spending.

While £25 million seems like a good deal for the 18-year-old with bags of talent, the sheer number and calibre of clubs interested in Dibling will likely drive that figure up once clubs start making offers.

If Newcastle's plan to spend in the summer comes off, maybe we'd stand a chance of signing Dibling, although, we still aren't convinced the summer is going to see much business either.

Tyler Dibling would already be a huge upgrade on Miguel Almiron

Tyler Dibling would be the perfect Miguel Almiron upgrade with the Paraguayan heading to Atlanta United this month. He's way younger than Miggy and already better but still has a lot to learn. The sky is the limit for him.

Unfortunately, we clearly aren't the only side who has noticed this.

We're not holding our breath that Tyler Dibling will be a Newcastle player next season, but we'll keep everything crossed nonetheless.
