Newcastle United don't have much luck when loaning out their young stars. Yankuba Minteh is the obvious exception to the rule as he was fantastic for Feyenoord - so good in fact that Brighton paid £33 million to take him off our hands before he'd even made a single appearance.

The yardstick by which all poor loans are measured is of course Garang Kuol. His loan to Hearts was nothing short of disastrous as shortly into his loan term, the manager who brought him to the club, Frankie McAvoy was sacked and the appearances dried up for the Australian forward. The following season, Kuol was sent to Eredivisie strugglers FC Volendam where he struggled to make any real impact in a poor side.

This season, we loaned Miodrag Pivas to Willem II in the Netherlands only for his work permit to be refused leaving him unable to even train with his new club for weeks until it was sorted.

It's too soon to say for certain whether Alex Murphy's loan move to Bolton will be a success or failure, but it has certainly got off to a bad start.

Things have got off to a bad start for Alex Murphy at Bolton

Bolton sack their manager just three days after Alex Murphy arrived

Just three days after moving to Bolton Wanderers, Alex Murphy has seen his gaffer relieved of his duties and now Murphy must wait to see who comes in next and convince them that his presence there is a positive.

Bolton are ninth in League Two currently and parted ways with manager Ian Evatt after four years at the club today.

Murphy was an unused substitute for Bolton last night as they were beaten at home 2-1 by Charlton Athletic, sealing Evatt's fate.

Fingers crossed Alex Murphy will be given plenty of games by the new gaffer

Hopefully whoever comes in to replace Evatt will already know enough about Murphy to know how good he is, but if not, we're sure that the youngster will impress in training.

Alex Murphy has caught the eye of Eddie Howe already, so surely a League Two manager should be able to spot the levels that the youngster is already at and will play him regularly.

We really don't have much luck with loan moves do we?
