This summer Newcastle United made a move to sign highly-rated Serbian defender Miodrag Pivas from Jedinstvo Ub before loaning him to Willem II in the Netherlands.
Miodrag Pivas has been touted as being the next Nemanja Vidic by former Manchester United star Nemanja Matic, showing just how well thought of he is in Serbian football.
Rather than Pivas training with Newcastle's reserves, it was decided to loan him out in order to get first-team football elsewhere and Dutch Eredivisie side Willem II duly stepped up.
The loan move was a late one in the transfer window and that has caused one or two problems for the Dutch side.
We imagine that the paperwork side of things when it comes to football transfers is quite tricky, what with it being essentially legalised human trafficking and that, so if mistakes are made or there's a delay in anything, it may have an adverse effect.
That's exactly what has happened in this case when it came to acquiring a work permit for Pivas and the process is only just now being concluded.
A report from Dutch outlet AD reports that due to the paperwork issue, Pivas was not allowed to even train with his new club, never mind play for them.
It turns out that Willem weren't even allowed to let Pivas train individually at the club and the 19-year-old had to return to Serbia to train with his old club.
Pivas has travelled back to the Netherlands this week which suggests that the issue has been resolved although it hasn't been made public whether he's been given the all-clear at the time or writing.
Young Newcastle players and loan moves eh? It's never easy ... unless it's Yankuba Minteh but then we just sell him anyway.
