It's getting to a point now where Newcastle United could petition the government for a direct rail link between Newcastle and Bournemouth.

While Lloyd Kelly is the only player that Eddie Howe has brought in from Bournemouth himself, there have been several players over recent years who made the switch from the Cherries to the Magpies: Matt Ritchie, Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson and Lloyd Kelly all swapped the south coast for the north east, while Newcastle are constantly linked with Bournemouth players.

Just this season we've reportedly been looking at Antoine Semenyo and Illia Zabarnyi, and now the son of a former Newcastle player has made the list.

Justin Kluivert, the son of Patrick, who recently scored a devastating hat-trick at St James' Park is reportedly a target for Eddie Howe.

Newcastle want Justin Kluivert to replace Alexander Isak ... Eh?

The Sun are reporting that Newcastle are eyeing Kluivert as a replacement if they sell Alexander Isak in the summer. That claim barely even makes sense given that Kluivert is more of a winger than a striker.

This goes back to a piece we wrote a couple of weeks ago which said that it seems that Newcastle aren't allowed to simply look at the option of signing another forward these days. Every forward we look at now has to be framed as though we're going to sell Isak.

The fact is, Newcastle desperately need to sign a striker this summer and Justin Kluivert may be an option we're looking at to support Alexander Isak, not replace him.

Bournemouth could be about to make a huge profit on Justin Kluivert

Kluivert is having a blinder of a season with Bournemouth and it would make sense for Newcastle to keep tabs on him. We need a striker and we have a good relationship with Bournemouth.

Arsenal are also monitoring Kluivert, so the Cherries may face a fight to keep hold of their £9.5 million signing in the summer, although we expect the profit the'd be likely to make on the deal could push them towards selling.

Whatever fee Bournemouth place on Kluivert would be a big determining factor in how aggressively Newcastle pursue a deal. The ideal outcome for the summer striker search would be picking up Jonathan David from Lille on a free transfer, but that's going to be a monumental task to complete.
