The Bournemouth curse continued in brutal fashion for Newcastle United as the Cherries absolutely battered the Magpies 4-1 at St James' Park.
Newcastle must have forgot that it was a 12:30pm kick-off today because they didn't look anywhere near ready to play a game of football today.
To a man, Newcastle were absolutely awful, except maybe for Sandro Tonali who kept his levels high.
Bournemouth were just better in every area of the pitch. You'd have thought it was Newcastle with 11 first-team players missing.
That slight praise of Sandro Tonali is going to be the only positivity contained within this article, so if you're not in the mood for a rant, then I'm sorry, that's all I've got.
Bournemouth just wanted it more today and that was clear from the off. It took just six minutes for the son of former Magpie Patrick Kluivert, Justin, to equal his father's St James' Park goals tally before he went on to bag a hat-trick at the ground his dad once called home.
Newcastle levelled things on 25 minutes with a superb header by Bruno Guimaraes direct from a Lewis Hall corner, but Kluivert struck again just before halftime to give Bournemouth the lead going into the break.
Eddie Howe made one change at half time, then continued to tweak things in the second half but nothing worked; it was as if his entire squad were still asleep.
Bournemouth had a goal chalked off in the second half after it was shown that the ball had gone out of play in the build-up. Martin Dubravka, who had a pretty naff game, did make a couple of outstanding saves to keep Newcastle in it for a while.
However, Kluivert added his third in spectacular fashion two minutes into stoppage time, but Bournemouth weren't done and Milos Kerkez added another four minutes later to give Bournemouth a lead that reflected their dominance.
Alexander Isak's scoring streak came to an abrupt end as the Swedish striker barely had a sniff all game. Newcastle had a couple of shots blocked on the line, which just summed up their luck in all honesty.
The winning streak and Isak's scoring run are now confined to history and Eddie Howe has the task of trying to spark this team back to life. The signs were there against Wolves, but today's performance can only be described as 'awful'. Well, that's not true, I can think of plenty of other words, but I can't print most of them!
