Only Manchester City are set to travel more miles over Christmas than Newcastle United with their participation in the Club World Cup.
That means that with the fixtures set to be played over the festive period, Newcastle find themselves with the most domestic miles to cover of any other Premier League side.
Newcastle are geographically the league's outliers ever since Sunderland and Middlesbrough went to play at their appropriate levels, so it's hardly a surprise that we top the league each season for the amount of miles covered, but it would be nice to have a break from all that travelling over Christmas.
It's already a stretch financially at this time of year, but now fans have 846 miles to cover according to TalkSPORT.
Meanwhile, Brentford's players are being given Christmas off as they have a nice 10-day gap between fixtures as they were set to play Manchester City who will instead be 8000 miles away partaking in the Club World Cup.
It's the away trip to Luton that's the big one in terms of mileage on 23rd December, but we also face a festive trip to Liverpool on New Year's Day.
Maybe the Premier League does this on purpose because they know that Newcastle fans are the most likely to travel in their droves regardless of the time of year or weather conditions.
At least the following away fixture is nice and close when we make that short trip down the A19 to battle with our great rivals in the FA Cup third round.
We wonder who will be in the dugout for that game after Tony Mowbray was given the last card in the pack last night.
