Newcastle United is currently holding a public consultation at St. James' Park about the "STACK" fan zone at Strawberry Place.

Alongside the event, the club has just released the first CGI images of what will be known as the "St. James' STACK, powered by Sela", which is set to open in November if all goes to plan.

Supporters, representatives of local businesses, and members of the general public are currently at the stadium to get a deeper look at the plans. They have been invited to "provide face-to-face feedback to senior Newcastle United Football Club and STACK representatives as part of the formal planning process".

From the images, the design looks much the same as the old STACK site that stood at Pilgrim Street in Newcastle City centre and proved incredibly popular.

Like that venue, it will be built using repurposed shipping containers but will have a main stage area for live performances, along with two giant screens for showing matches.

In the club's words, the plan is for the new fan zone to "introduce a thriving food, drink and entertainment option for supporters visiting matches at St. James' Park".

It will also be open during weekdays and Sela, the club's new front-of-shirt partner, is expected to host special events and experiences at the venue once it opens.

We don't know about you, but we can't wait to see this come to life. It should serve as a great entryway to the stadium from the city centre and it will be a vast, vast improvement on what's currently there.
