Following this weekend's round of Premier League fixtures we find ourself in yet another international break which will see several of Newcastle United's stars jetting off to various places around the world.

For European sides, they are set to take part in more Nations League nonsense, which are essentially friendlies with a fancy sticker on them.

We expect Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon to be called up for England again with Kieran Trippier set to remain on Tyneside after retiring from international football before the last international break.

Similarly Fabian Schar will be staying put after also pulling away from the international side of things.

Alexander Isak has not been called up for Sweden

Jon Dahl Tomasson left Alexander Isak out of the Sweden squad

Another player who won't be jetting off to play for his country is Alexander Isak who wasn't called up by Sweden due to his broken toe.

That's great news for Newcastle who can now rest easy knowing that their star striker won't be risking his fitness playing in nonsense internationals.

It's not so great for Sweden, obviously, who are missing a big, big player in Isak with Sweden coach Jon Dahn Tomasson emhasising Isak's importance in a recent interview with SvenksFotboll.

Tomasson hailed Isak as one of the world's best strikers

The former Newcastle striker hailed Isak as one of the best strikers in the world.

"It is one of the world's best strikers who is missing. He is really disappointed not to be able to contribute and help the team, but he is not ready to perform due to injury and I am sure he will be back in November and help us when we play the "final round" at the Strawberry Arena."

Isak is set to miss the game against Everton on Saturday which leaves Eddie Howe with the choice to make between starting Anthony Gordon as the makeshift striker or giving Will Osula another chance after his full debut last night.
