Just one year after leaving Newcastle United for the Saudi Pro League, Allan Saint-Maximin is on the move again.

As was reported a couple weeks ago, Jose Mourinho had set his sights on Saint-Maximin and wanted to bring the tricky winger to Turkey with his new club Fenerbahce.

That move has now been confirmed with Maxi taking to social media to issue a statement to the Ah-Ahli fans ahead of his season-long loan in which he apologises for not being better last season.

He seems to do that a lot, doesn't he?

We can't see how Mourinho and Saint-Maximin are going to work together

A few worshippers at the cult of Saint-Maximin still remain at Newcastle with some saying they'd have him back in a heartbeat and wondering why we didn't loan him back if he was available.

We can't wait to see the fireworks that are inevitably going to happen the minute he does something on the pitch that Jose Mourinho doesn't like.

The two have very contrasting ideas of how to play the game and this whole move just feels wrong, it's a pure oil and water situation.

Let's hope Maxi finds his feet in Turkey

Of course, we could be completely wrong and Mourinho could be the man to finally get a tune out of Maxi and get him to play football in a way that uses his undeniable skill for the benefit of the team.

The Turkish league is probably a step up from the Saudi Pro League, and Fenerbahce will be competing in the Champions League too if they get through qualifying, so Maxi is going to have to step up.

We've given him a hard time in this article, but we do genuinely hope the move works out for him, we've still got a lot of love for ASM, but we just don't subscribe to the cultism that followed him around Newcastle.
